Tellurian Suns is now available!

You can now get a copy of Tellurian Suns: Seeing the Light.
Go to: Tellurian Suns homepage
There is a link under the picture.

After you read the book there are fun things on the homepage for you to explore to Sun Stones even more: there is a map of where the Sun Stones have been found, there is a backstage area with deleted scenes and rough drafts, and there is a survey about the book.

I hope you enjoy reading the book as much as I did writing it.

First copy is here, but...

So, my wife, Milexis, is getting me the first copy of my book for Christmas this year. It didn’t take nearly as long to print and ship as I expected and it’s already here!

It’s already at my house, but I can’t see it yet! She won’t let me see it just like a good gift-giver shouldn’t, but it’s so tempting.

She said that it looks amazing. I can’t wait to see it!

As soon as I give the ‘OK’ it will be available to the public. Cool, huh?

It's ready!

I finally got the book formatted and ready for printing after quite the fight with PDF creation software. I now recommend using Open Office to format and create the PDF for uploading to Lulu. Also, if you own Adobe Acrobat that probably is a good option, but let's face it, it's expensive.

Pending my review of the first copy that I ordered (!) Tellurian Suns: Seeing the Light will be ready for the public. You will be able to buy it here:

The official site is to the point where it's good enough for viewers eyes, so check it out:

yWriter

A while ago I had found this software to help authors organize their novels, but at the time either I didn't look at it well enough or it wasn't something that I saw as useful. But now, version 5 is out and well, it looks like a very useful tool.

So today I downloaded it and am trying it for book 2 of Tellurian Suns (working title is Rock of Divisions). It looks cool so far. Check it out:

Self publishing

So I decided that I'm going to go the self-publishing route. There were a lot of things the influenced the decision, but I think in the long run this will be a good thing for me.

Launch is set for sometime in January! It's going to be a great day.

Self Publishing to-do list

My list of things to do in order to be a successful self-published author is growing:

1.Format the book
2.Google Books
3.Google Site
4.Books websites:
www.authorsden.com
www.weread.com
www.goodreads.com
www.slashdot.com
5.Smashwords
6.Kindle
7.Amazon Marketplace
8.Myspace
9.Paypal account
10.CRM software
11.Bzz Agent WOM compaign

I already have a Facebook page (you can become a fan of Tellurian Suns to the left!) so that's one less thing to do. Once I get the book formatted then all the other stuff needs to get done as soon as possible so people can find the book, learn about it, and buy it.

Synopsis

Reading agents' submission guidelines, I just learned/realized that I have to write a synopsis for some agents. Ugh. I'm kind of excited because i love thinking and writing about my novel, but just imagining the all the time that will be used to make it good makes me groan...ugh.

My elevator pitch

I finally thought of a good elevator pitch for TELLURIAN SUNS: SEEING THE LIGHT.

"A family friendly thriller about an alien activist who is robbed of a mysterious glowing stone, learns that it's not the only one out there, and has to get all of them before two secret societies use them for their power."

Thanks go out to Nathan Bransford for his blurb about his upcoming book which was most of the inspiration for my elevator pitch. Tell me what you think in the comments.

Also, soon I'll be posting what I have for my query letter, as that is the next step in this journey!

The beginning

Well it's about time I made a blog for myself where I can talk about my journey to being a published author.
Last night I went to a program by the public library put on by an agent and an author who explained really well how to go about getting published--luckily I knew a lot of it--and some hints on how to do it, which were very helpful. I got a great idea for my pitch (query letter). I'll post my query letter soon so you can see it.
